JEXCELHUB exists because we were tired of seeing our friends, family, and neighbours lose money to bad sellers online. We launched from Abeokuta, Ogun State, with the simple goal of making digital commerce honest again.

Existing marketplaces ignored the Nigerian context. They charged dollar-priced subscriptions, they didn't verify sellers properly, they took weeks to resolve disputes, and when they did issue refunds, the money got stuck in international gateways for a fortnight. The Nigerian digital economy deserved better. So we built it.

Government ID, BVN, working bank account, business address. We check all of it before a single product can be listed. If a vendor stops responding to disputes, we suspend them. We trade trust for openness, on purpose.
Every naira is escrowed
When you pay, your money sits with us — not the vendor — until you confirm delivery. The vendor sees 70% as a "starter payment" so they can fulfil promptly, and the rest is released after the dispute window. If something's wrong, the money comes back to you.
Every dispute is reviewed by a person
Not a chatbot. Not an offshore call centre with no Nigerian context. When you raise a dispute, a member of our team reads your messages, looks at the courier proof, and makes a fair call within 48 hours. You can speak to them in pidgin, English, or text directly via WhatsApp.

We're not based in a Silicon Valley co-working space. We're at 19 Onikoko Road, Abeokuta, Ogun State — about 90 minutes north of Lagos by road. Abeokuta is the land beneath the rocks, the home of the Egba people, a city that's been a centre of trade and craftsmanship for centuries. It's a fitting place to build a marketplace.
JEXCELHUB started with a single frustrating order. A friend sent ₦80,000 to a reseller on WhatsApp for goods that never arrived. The bank couldn't help. The "platform" was a free web form.
