These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of JEXCELHUB, a Nigerian online marketplace and freelance platform operated from 19 Onikoko Road, Abeokuta, Ogun State. By creating an account or transacting on JEXCELHUB, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform. Throughout this document, "we", "us", and "our" refers to JEXCELHUB and its operators; "you" and "your" refers to you, the user.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract under Nigerian law. By registering, you represent that this is true and that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and current. We may suspend or close any account opened under false pretences. JEXCELHUB is currently intended for use by individuals and businesses based in Nigeria; international users may register to buy but cannot sell or receive payouts until we expand to additional markets.
2. Buyer responsibilities
As a buyer on JEXCELHUB, you agree to:
- Pay the full price displayed at checkout, including any processing fee.
- Provide accurate delivery information and be available to receive shipments.
- Inspect deliveries promptly and raise legitimate disputes within 48 hours of delivery if anything is wrong.
- Not engage in fraudulent chargebacks. Initiating a chargeback through your bank for an order we've already protected via escrow is grounds for permanent ban; we share fraud history with our payment partners.
- Communicate with vendors in good faith — abusive language or repeated harassment is grounds for account suspension.
- Provide honest reviews based on your actual experience. Fake reviews (positive or negative) are removed.
3. Vendor responsibilities
As a vendor selling physical products on JEXCELHUB, you agree to:
- Complete KYC verification before listing any product.
- List only items you legally own and are entitled to sell in Nigeria.
- Provide accurate descriptions, photos, prices, and stock counts.
- Ship within the timeline you advertise. Repeated late shipments may result in restricted listing visibility, downgraded seller level, or account suspension.
- Use a tracked courier and upload tracking numbers promptly. Untracked shipments are at your own risk in disputes.
- Communicate promptly with buyers — reply to messages within 24 hours during business days.
- Honour the JEXCELHUB return policy when an order is genuinely defective, damaged, or significantly different from the listing.
- Pay applicable Nigerian taxes on your earnings. We will report aggregate vendor earnings to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) where required by law.
- Not manipulate ratings or reviews — this includes asking buyers for positive reviews in exchange for refunds, creating fake buyer accounts, or paying for reviews.
4. Freelance seller responsibilities
As a freelance seller offering services on JEXCELHUB, you agree to:
- Complete KYC verification before listing any service.
- Only offer services you have the genuine skills, qualifications, and (where applicable) licences to provide.
- Deliver work that matches the agreed brief and the package the customer purchased.
- Provide the number of revisions advertised on your listing.
- For on-site services, arrive at the agreed time and within the advertised service area.
- Carry valid professional indemnity insurance where applicable (e.g. electrical work, plumbing).
- Honour any warranty period you advertise — typically 7 to 90 days for handwork.
- Not subcontract a job to an unverified third party without disclosing it to the customer.
5. Prohibited items and conduct
The following are not allowed on JEXCELHUB. Listing or attempting to sell these results in immediate listing removal and may result in account termination, forfeiture of pending earnings, and reporting to the relevant authorities:
- Counterfeit or replica goods passed off as authentic (genuine vintage and clearly-labelled fashion replicas may be allowed at our discretion).
- Stolen property of any kind.
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or any military-grade items.
- Illegal drugs or prescription medications without proper licensing and prescription verification.
- Adult content, sexually explicit material, or escort services.
- Pyramid schemes, MLM "opportunities", financial-services products requiring SEC licensing, or unregulated investment products.
- Wildlife products covered by CITES restrictions (ivory, certain animal skins, endangered species products).
- Tobacco, vape products, or alcohol (regulatory complexity makes us avoid these for now).
- Live animals.
- Human remains, body parts, or fluids.
- Content that infringes someone else's intellectual property.
- Any service or item that violates Nigerian federal or state law.
You are also prohibited from: harassing other users; spamming; circumventing our fees by arranging off-platform payment; manipulating search rankings through fake activity; attempting to access other users' accounts without authorisation; or scraping data from JEXCELHUB at scale.
6. Fees and payments
JEXCELHUB charges a flat 10% commission on each successful sale, whether physical or freelance service. There are no listing fees, no monthly subscriptions, and no hidden charges.
Buyers see a small payment processing fee at checkout (typically around 3.5%) which covers our payment partners' charges. This is a pass-through cost from the gateway, not income for JEXCELHUB.
Vendors receive 70% of their sale price in their wallet immediately when payment clears. The remaining 30% is held in escrow and released either after the buyer confirms delivery or 48 hours after delivery is recorded by the courier — whichever comes first. Top-tier vendors with consistently low dispute rates may be granted higher instant release ratios as a loyalty perk; this is at our sole discretion.
Withdrawals to Nigerian bank accounts settle within 24 hours. There is no withdrawal fee from JEXCELHUB; your bank may charge their own fee.
7. Disputes
If a buyer raises a dispute within 48 hours of delivery, the escrowed funds are frozen while our team reviews the case. We may request photos, courier proof, and message history from both sides.
Decisions are made by our dispute team based on the evidence presented and our published dispute resolution principles. Decisions are final but may be appealed in writing within 7 days, and appeals are reviewed by a senior member of the team. If a dispute is resolved in the buyer's favour, we automatically refund through the same payment method used at checkout. If resolved in the vendor's favour, the escrowed funds release to the vendor as scheduled.
Repeatedly raising bad-faith disputes (e.g. claiming non-delivery for items the courier confirms were delivered to your registered address) is grounds for account suspension or ban. Equally, vendors who repeatedly lose disputes through dishonest listings or non-delivery are subject to escalating consequences — restricted listing, forfeiture of held funds, and ultimately ban.
8. Jexel Points (JP)
Jexel Points are a loyalty currency awarded for referrals and milestones. JP has no cash value outside the platform and is non-transferable between accounts. We may adjust the JP-to-naira conversion rate or earning rules from time to time, with at least 14 days' written notice. Points fraudulently obtained (e.g. through self-referrals) will be revoked, and may result in account suspension or ban. JP balances do not expire.
9. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate any account at our sole discretion if we have reasonable grounds to believe:
- The account is engaged in fraud, misrepresentation, or unlawful activity.
- The account has repeatedly violated these Terms.
- The account poses a security or financial risk to other users or to the platform.
- You have used JEXCELHUB to harass, threaten, or harm another person.
On termination, escrowed funds owed to a vendor or freelancer are released after any open disputes are resolved. Buyers with open orders at the time of their account closure receive a full refund through the original payment method. Voluntary account closure can be requested at any time from Settings → Privacy.
10. Intellectual property
The JEXCELHUB name, logo, trademarks, platform code, and design are owned by us. You may not reproduce or republish them without permission.
Content you upload — product photos, listings, reviews, freelance portfolios, deliverables — remains your intellectual property. By uploading, you grant JEXCELHUB a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display and distribute it solely for the purpose of operating the platform. We do not use your content for advertising or external marketing without your written consent.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
JEXCELHUB is a marketplace facilitator. We don't manufacture, inspect, or warranty products listed by vendors, and we don't perform the freelance services booked through our platform. The contract for sale or service is directly between the buyer and the seller; JEXCELHUB facilitates payment, escrow, and dispute resolution.
The platform is provided "as is" and we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We schedule maintenance windows when possible and announce them in advance.
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the total amount of JEXCELHUB fees you paid in the 6 months preceding the claim, capped at ₦1,000,000. Nothing in this clause limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything else that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email and via in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date counts as acceptance of the new Terms. You can always close your account if you don't agree with the changes.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute that can't be resolved between us informally will be heard in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria. Before litigation, both sides agree to attempt mediation through the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse.
